Succeed with Tunnel Vision

If you run around trying to see or do everything, you very likely will neither truly understand nor accomplish anything at all!
In this aspect people can be divided into 2 types: the type that wants to relax and enjoy the "as it is" situation and the type that want to grow further, swim deeper, fly higher, and reach higher and higher levels of success. In this post I talk about a particular problem of the success driven type of people, which is being curious or being confronted with with too many interesting ideas or proposals.

It could be a Youtube video, it could be a discussion with friends or reading an interesting article, but the success driven people always encounter new opportunities, which can be new methods or developments in their current field of expertise or something totally different which is very promising and interesting. And it is very difficult to resist opportunities, so often people try to take on board far more than is good for them.

So you want to launch a new website and write a new book and open a new company and optimize the profitability of your current company and hire new people and, and, and... you get my drift.

No matter how highly we might think of ourselves, we do have limits and we better recognize them. It is absolutely without a question that a person 100% concentrated on a particular job will be far more successful in solving whatever problem or making whatever progress. Yes, I know, exceptions do exist, but we are talking about the 99% of the cases.

So the lesson is, if you want to be successful, pick a method, pick a path and stick to it to the end. Give it your 100% dedication and only once the proper effort has been invested, only at that time make a judgement about that path and if, at that time, you decide that the return you got was not good enough, fine, then go try a different path, but first focus on what you research, calculate and believe is the best path at that particular moment and do not allow yourself to be excited about other projects and starting spending time on totally different things.
Pick one path, method, thing
Get it done with 100% dedication
Do not fall off your path on impulse excitement of something new that came your way
Keep your focus! Keep your concentration to succeed!
