Word Cloud Succeed with Tunnel Vision

Careful with getting lost amidst too many ideas or methods or opportunities - pick one and stick to it with tunnel vision! And do not deviate until you get results, which could be positive or failure, but walk the full distance - don't get off the success bus after one or a couple of stops.

Be in Business to Succeed

A human mind thrives the best in a challenging environment!
There are people who will sit and fantasize about all sorts of ideas and possibilities yet do nothing about it because there always seems to be one or more reasons why it is not a good idea to start with this or with that. As a consequence of such lifestyle friends and/or family discuss all sorts of topics over the course of years, however, in the end, nothing has changed, nothing has started and life is as life was - dreaming about things. That way is NOT the "way of the samurai" :)

The best way in business is to BE IN BUSINESS!

That means start your activity, get it moving and on your way you will stumble upon other opportunities, directly or indirectly connected to your original idea, which you would have never even thought of before, because you were not in business. There is nowhere written that you must sell antique tables all your life if that was your original idea. Most likely while doing that business you would encounter many other opportunities which are possibly far more lucrative than your original idea. Or you can discover that building luxury huts on islands is the way to continue and you would stop completely your original tables idea and move to some remote dream location and start building huts! You never know until you are in business!

Adapting as you go

In the video below you will see a very nice explanation how you start with one idea and then something else comes your way (while you are in business - not on your sofa watching TV) and maybe you start with that and then maybe yet another opportunity comes which is even more interesting.

There are many roads to success and, I repeat, nowhere does it state that you absolutely have to do something specific your entire life. You are a human, you are a hugely advanced creature with unlimited potential - do not restrict yourself in anti-creative boxes.

Another Success Path Variation:

There are infinite variations of paths leading to success. Here is another one where you start well and are growing very good, but then something happens and your business or project encounters huge problems and nearly collapses, but you do not give up, you keep on fighting and eventually you discover a way to solve the problems and with your experience you establish a more efficient way forward.
Don't waste too much time talking and dreaming!
Start your business or project!
Keep yourself updated! Keep up with competition! See what they are doing and learn from them!
And new opportunities will open up to you - the best way to reach success is to be in business!

Resist Complaining & Negativity

Inspirational stories and ideas make people move. Likewise, negative ones bring your energy down!
It is often easier said than done "stay away from negative people". In real life there can be cases where for whatever reason you cannot do that. It could be a member of your family who is always negative, but you care for him or her and want to help or it could be a close friend who has saved your life or gotten you out of trouble so you feel grateful and you will never abandon him or her.

Whatever the case, these do exist and thus this post to bring it to your attention. The way complaining or constantly talking and discussion about problems works is in a very subtle and invisible way. It is sort of similar to someone pulling petrol out of a car. You can be sitting and listening to problems and complains and then your friend or family would leave your house and you might find yourself not feeling like working or thinking about their problems. But just 1 hour ago you were going full speed on your project and now that motivation or muse has just disappeared and you are back on Earth.

Be mindful of this effect. It is not for nothing that people say that you must surround yourself with inspirational, smart and energetic people who are full of love and passion and action. In a group like this it is almost impossible not to reach success. However, like I mentioned, it is not always possible to completely eliminate negativity and so there is only one weapon that you have that can counter this effect and this weapon is called DISCIPLINE!

  • Get back on your project!
  • Remember your goals!
  • Remember what you are fighting for and where you want to get to!
  • Watch whatever inspirational videos you love if that helps!

But whatever you do enforce DISCIPLE in order to achieve success. No matter how you feel get back on the path, get back to your work and for the future, if possible, either limit the amount of contact you have t have with this person or persons or find a way to turn your conversations into constructive and positive conversations. After all, I like to think that everyone wants to be successful, so see if you can think of a way to turn your complaining friend or family into talking about an interesting project, no matter how small it is!
Resist the effect of complaints and negativity!
Remember your path!
Be strong and disciplined!
Fight for success!

Start Early Start Young (with VIDEO)

The sooner you start the sooner you will get there!
In this nice and brief video Robert Kiyosaki urges young people, based on his success, based on his experience, to avoid getting to the the trap of the corporate world. His message in this specific speech is to start young, stay determined and keep pushing for success.

And you will fail! but failure is not an end point - it is just one or more events which happen to you on your way to success. So do not get discouraged, get motivated, get moving and start your own business today! :)

Avoid the Comfort Zone Trap

Comfort zone trap has many shapes and forms and it is something that a lot of people fall into never realizing that they are damaging their future success. But what do I mean by a "comfort zone trap"?
  • Do you know everything or most things about your job and you feel confident, you can answer any question? Then you are in the comfort zone trap and you need to get out.
  • Do you stay where you are because you know everyone and everyone respects you and you are happy that people come up to you, show you respect and ask your advice? Then quite likely you are in the trap and you are afraid to go out after opportunities because in new places nobody will give you that level of respect.
  • Do you stay in your job because it is secure and allows you to pay your bills and you avoid going out there and taking risks? Then you are in your comfort zone and quite likely you are missing out on opportunities due to fear holding you where you are.

Do you remember when you first started a job, be it at an employer or your own projects? Everything was unknown and you had to learn new things and make connections with new people and perhaps at the beginning you got weaker scores or evaluations as you did not know everything well. But this is exactly the most useful period for yourself as you develop and grow the fastest in this kind of an environment. You learn new things, you force your brain to develop and make new neural connections and similar with people, you encounter new personalities, new difficulties, which you must learn to overcome.

That is where you want to be. You do not want to be in your comfort zone!

In your comfort zone you know your job well and so you might catch yourself needing coffee. People often look for stimulants if their tasks are boring. And when are the tasks boring? This is when you know exactly what you are doing, when you will be finished and what will be the outcome. And you can only know those pieces of information if you are in your comfort zone. So avoid it like the plague!

The unknown is scary and things can definitely go very wrong, but I am not recommending you to blindly jump. What do entrepreneurs do? They look for all possible ways to reduce risk. So do your homework, analyze your situation and take all the necessary steps to make your landing as soft as possible. This could mean saving some money or getting a new job before you quit your current one or making a new consulting contract before your quit your job or developing something on the side up to the point where it starts bringing you money before you plunge into the unknown.
Avoid the comfort zone like the plague - do not fall into its trap! Force yourself to constantly develop and grow and reach success!

Having a Rewarding Life Purpose (with VIDEO)

Without a purpose, without making someone's life better, one cannot completely satisfy one's soul.
In the below video by Adam Leipzig we learn 5 important questions which we can ask ourselves to reveal our purpose and to make us see clearly if we are on the right path or not or to reveal to ourselves our life purpose. These questions are:

  • Who are you?
  • What do you do?
  • Who do you do it for?
  • What those people want or need?
  • How they change as a result?

And then you can turn this into a full sentence which gives you your life purpose. Here are 3 examples which he gives:

  • I write books for children, so they can fall asleep at night, so they can have awesome dreams.
  • I design apperel for men and women who need affordable choices so they can look and feel their best.
  • I train entrepreneurs and creative people to make decisive actions so they can get their greatest work into the world.

And so when someone asks you what do you do for a living don't answer the traditional way, but give the answer which you said for the last question. So for example:

  • I give kids awesome dreams.
  • I make people look and feel their best.
  • I help people bring out the best within them.

As a result, people will most likely be surprised and ask you how do you do that and then you can have a very interesting conversation, which is on a totally different level than "i am a doctor and you are a bus driver".

I find this simple exercise rather useful, because often we do things just for money or we don't even think who's lives we will improve through our work. And it is clear that with money you can buy things, but it is something intangible like this which will fill up your soul.
Do you do something to make someone's life better even in a small way?
